Mark Sadlier-Brown is the frontman and has been playing his own kind of rootsy\, rockabilly\, folk\, and proto-jazz music for years. He also wrote “spur of the moment” songs for the local CBC station in Calgary. Mark performed as a member of “The Highwater Jugband” and the “Alien Rebels”.  \n\n\n\nThe Sadlier-Brown band likes to mix original songs with obscure vintage songs to give you a creative show. The band’s music mostly ranges from the era of the 50’s and into the 60’s.  All of their music is played with an infectious solid rhythm that encourages dancing.  The look and style of the band is vintage.  This includes clothes and instruments dating from the early time of country and rockabilly jive music. \n\n\n\nAcoustic Folk and Roots performer Henk van Ginneken (aka Leon Barr)\, backs up his vocals with guitars\, harmonicas\, mandolin and 6 string banjo. He has recorded two CDs. As well as his solo shows\, he has opened for Bill Bourne\, Tim Williams\, Oscar Lopez\, Jerusalem Ridge and Ken Ham to name a few. Along the way\, he has also done a lot of busking for well over 40 years. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

SUMMARY:Home Routes presents Kaeley jade
DESCRIPTION:Kaeley Jade \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick Here to buy tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline Tickets are available now. \n\n\n\nTickets are available online and at Analog Books and CASA. \n\n\n\n“With an emotionally poignant indie pop sound and her penchant for crafting relatable and pointed lyrics\, Kaeley Jade is an artist that seems capable of exciting things. Whether crafting bouncy anthems or more melancholic and thoughtful reflections\, there is a real engaging edge to her writing and her sound.” \n\n\n\n— CLOUT \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHome Routes with Lethbridge Folk Clubs’ Prairie Folk Sessions presents Kaeley Jade on Saturday April 11\, 2026\, at Analog Books. \n\n\n\nAlternative-folk singer/songwriter Kaeley Jade crafts full-hearted songs that dig deep. Growing up on the outskirts of North America’s most northern metropolis\, the Edmonton-based Métis artist has been sculpted by icy winter winds\, warm summer breezes\, and sweeping prairie skies. Whether through gently textured acoustic ballads or rip-roaring full-band cuts\, Kaeley’s powerful voice and vivid imagery capture the depths of life’s most challenging moments with sincerity and precision. \n\n\n\nKaeley will be drifting between her piano and acoustic guitar\, and will be accompanied by the amazing multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Gagnon\, so if you’re a fan of soaring vocals\, rich lyricism\, and heavenly harmonies\, this will definitely be a show I think you should check out! \n\n\n\n\nKaeley Jade’s forthcoming album\, The Great Unknown\, finds her exploring an earthier sound\, where expansive percussion mingles with soaring guitars to create the electric charge of an impending storm. At its core is Kaeley’s heartfelt vocal delivery\, both commanding and vulnerable\, and reminiscent of artists like Serena Ryder or Kacey Musgraves. Produced by JUNO Award-winner Hill Kourkoutis\, The Great Unknown is a cinematic plunge into the dread\, conflict\, and uncertainty that arises when we reach a turning point. There is a catharsis in letting go of that which no longer serves us\, and The Great Unknown invites listeners to embrace the unpredictability of life\, confront the moments that challenge us\, and celebrate the beauty found within the ever-shifting tides of experience. \n\n\n\nA Renaissance woman at heart\, Kaeley Jade’s creative practice extends far beyond her musical prowess. After attaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Alberta in 2020\, she has continued to dance between the worlds of music\, theatre\, film\, and visual arts. Her work on Two-Headed/Half-Hearted—a prairie-gothic folk musical that premiered at Northern Light Theatre in 2022—showcased her talents as a composer\, sound designer\, and actor\, and earned her a Music in the Arts award at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards. With over 150 performances across Canada since 2023\, Kaeley’s deep love of storytelling and dynamic stage presence shine through whether she performs solo\, duo\, or with her five-piece band. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

Watch for her” – Tony King\, CKUA Radio \n\n\n\n“Have you ever gone from “Who is this musician?” To “WHO is the musician?!!?” This was my experience in first seeing John Hewitt at the Canmore Folk Festival.”  \n\n\n\n– Stuart Muir\, New Moon Folk Club \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLethbridge Folk Clubs’ Prairie Folk Sessions presents Abigayle Oakley with John Hewitt on February 25th\, 2026\, at Analog Books. \n\n\n\nFrom Las Vegas to Nashvegas\, Abigayle Oakley blends the melodic richness of folk pioneers with the lyrical honesty of today’s confessional singer-songwriters. \n\n\n\nHer songs explore the complexities of life and the existential questions that shape us\, often with a sharp\, tongue-in-cheek wit that adds layers of humour and insight. Abigayle is a recent winner of the Kerrville New Folk Competition and has played hundreds of shows in the US and Canada\, opening for acts such as The War and Treaty\, Jed and The Valentine\, Forest Blakk and more. Well known for his Band John Hewitt and the Americans. John has produced and toured several ‘Lives and Times’ series including Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce. \n\n\n\nThe song craft of John Hewitt is spot on. He not only tells a story but also does so in an engaging way with complementary lyrics\, melody\, and arrangements. Basically John is a hardworking artist that pays attention to all the details of his presentation and audiences loved it! \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT \n\n\n\nLynne Hanson with Steve Pineo \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSold Out\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTHIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT \n\n\n\nTickets are NO LONGER available at our ticket partners: \n\n\n\nSaying of Lynne’s Album Ice Cream Dream “It’s a glorious mash-up of Americana\, folk\, and the occasional indie production and song structure and sounds\, made even better by Hanson’s trademark lyrical depth… her best work to-date… It’s a strong contender for album of the year.” – Amplify Music Magazine \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Lethbridge Folk Club Presents Lynne Hanson\, with Steve Pineo. \n\n\n\nLocal Singer/Songwriter\, Karen Romanchuk will be opening. \n\n\n\nToo tough for folk and too blues-influenced for country\, Lynne Hanson’s brand of porch music with a little red dirt can turn on a dime from a sunshine\, blue sky ballad to a full on thunderstorm of gritty Americana swamp from one song to the next. Her hard living music has garnered her the nickname “Canada’s Queen of Americana.” And while her deep\, bluesy croon has drawn comparisons to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch\, it’s the poetry of her lyrics that really sets her apart.  \n\n\n\n\nWinner of two Canadian Folk Music Awards\, Hanson is known for her high-energy\, roots guitar-driven live performances\, whether playing solo or with her band\, the Good Intentions. She has an uncanny way of connecting with her audience with an authenticity that is as entertaining as it is disarming.  \n\n\n\nLynne Hanson released her tenth studio album “Just A Poet” in Spring 2024. The album has been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Contemporary Album of the Year. \n\n\n\nSteve Pineo is a 30 year musical veteran\, a nationally recognized song writer who’s written songs recorded by Paul Brandt (Canadian Man) and Prairie Oyster (Too Bad For Me)\, and a tireless musical creator. His annual Christmas show plays for five sold out nights every year at Calgary’s premiere music venue\, Ironwood. Steve is also celebrated for his loving nine-piece tribute to Elvis Presley. \n\n\n\nKaren Romanchuk is a Lethbridge\, Alberta\, Canada\, folk\, blues and country music singer and songwriter. Influenced by Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams\, her songwriting has developed into her own unique sound. She travelled the road with a cover band. Now\, she performs her own songs with passion\, and her only hope is to touch someone with her music. \n\n\n\nKaren has added some amazing credentials to her resume throughout her career\, including opening slots for Willie P. Bennett\, Gaye Delorme\, Katherine Wheatley\, Wendell Ferguson (7-time CCMA guitar player of the year\, who also graces her cd “Dance”)\, Leeroy Stagger\, The Good Lovelies (Juno award winners) and Jill Barber\, just to name a few. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

SUMMARY:John Rutherford Trio
DESCRIPTION:John Rutherford Trio with Papa King \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy your Tickets Click Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline Tickets are available now. \n\n\n\nAfter December 30th\, tickets will be available at our ticket partners: Analog Books\, D&N Kitchen\, Cuppers Coffee\, Theoretically Brewing\, and Casa. \n\n\n\n“This (Midnight Microphone) is an individual take on the blues\, by an artist very much in tune with the music but unafraid to put his own spin on it. I liked this a lot.” – Norman Darwen \n\n\n\n— Blues In The South Magazine\, England\, 2023.” \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Lethbridge Folk Club presents The John Ritherford Trio with Papa King opening. \n\n\n\nGrowing up in Toronto in the 60’s and 70’s John Rutherford first laid hands on a guitar at age 10\, and at 16 told his guitar teacher he wanted to play some of the popular rock songs of the day. Rutherford was told “if you want to play rock ’n’ roll you’ll have to learn the blues” \n\n\n\nLessons were spent digging into classic blues guitar recordings\, studying the rhythm\, feel and form of the music. Rutherford took his homework seriously swinging by Sam the Record Man on Yonge Street each week to purchase whatever blues album they’d been working with. This process spawned both a passion for the sound of the blues but also a sprawling record collection. Rutherford’s blues library and his earliest influences began with works by John Mayall\, Buddy Guy\, Taj Mahal\, Johnny Winter\, Hubert Sumlin\, T-Bone Walker\, Otis Rush\,  Freddie\, Albert and BB King. Rutherford never learned those rock songs of the day\, he stuck with the blues. \n\n\n\nMaintaining a long running residency at Calgary’s current home of the blues\, The Blues Can\, Rutherford performs solo shows and routinely rocks the house with his blues trio while honing his signature guitar sound and storytelling songwriting style. \n\n\n\n\nRutherford’s solo career began with the release of the 2010 LP Echo Broadcast which reached #1 on the Alberta public broadcaster CKUA top 30 chart and received glowing reviews internationally. The leap to branch out on his own blossomed into appearances at clubs\, concert venues and major music festivals across Canada. \n\n\n\nAdding to a long list of projects\, accomplishments and career milestones Rutherford is pleased to announce the release of his latest EP in 2023 entitled Midnight Microphone. \n\n\n\nProduced by legendary guitarist Tim Williams\, and joined by Thom Moon on drums and Bill Price on bass the new songs express Rutherford’s will to push the blues form beyond traditions or expectations in a search of his own honest connection to the feel and power of the music. \n\n\n\n“Papa” King Cole is a solid\, hard-working Albertan who has supported his family as a class 1 truck driver by day and singer/songwriter musician by night. \n\n\n\nHis music and songs reflect the life he lives and observes.\n\n\n\nDriven with love and passion\, this is music for all ages.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHis original songs all engage with his audiences\, and they leave with a good taste in their soul. \n\n\n\nMusic is heartfelt\, melodic\, rhythmic and dynamic. Various styles make each song unique. Lyrics drawn from personal experience and Alberta landscapes convey universal themes. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

With its soulful storytelling\, rich instrumentation and analog warmth\, this album confirms Leanne Lightfoot as a vital voice in contemporary folk and roots music. It’s an album that doesn’t just ask to be heard; it asks to be felt. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStevie Connor – The Sound Cafe” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe invite you to our event\, a Special Fundraising event\, on December 12th\, 2025\, at McKillop United Church. This event is designed to be a fun pre-Christmas celebration of the Lethbridge Folk Club’s successes this year\, and to build sustainability for our future plans through your generosity. \n\n\n\nJoin our two headlining guests\, Leanne Lightfoot and Reid & Writes\, as they\, and some surprise special guests\, bring you some of their musical offerings to fill out an evening of pre-holiday spirit\, food and fun. \n\n\n\nAlso\, please consider bringing a nonperishable food donation for the Interfaith Food Bank to support those in need. \n\n\n\nChannelled through her raw and honest vocals\, Leanne Lightfoot’s songwriting reveals the joys and sorrows of life’s lessons\, and the emotions she knows intimately: matters of the heart\, the call of the land\, and the bonds that bind one to another.  Adeptly and gently she leads listeners on emotional journeys with her song-stories\, some from her life\, some from other’s lives \n\n\n\n\nLightfoot’s credits many influences in her music\, Willy Nelson\, Ian Tyson and Emmylou Harris\, to name a few amongst many. But\, It wasn’t until she first heard a recording of singer/songwriter Iris Dement that something really changed for her. “I had never heard anything like it. It was startling\, I started writing.” \n\n\n\nLiving in the Millarville area\, Alberta\, ten years after releasing the ‘Redtail Flyer’ album\, Leanne has released Still Knowing in February 2025.  A collection of 10 songs.  Bringing her smoke-laced vocals and timeless writing to the forefront\, her new tracks harness the many influences of her early years and temper them with the life lessons that come with the profoundly joyous and sorrowful experiences of a life lived in the pursuit of personal truths\, art\, passion\, and being human. \n\n\n\nA Story Steeped in Sound\, Reid & Writes is a group of seasoned musicians that plays original songs along with tasty covers. \n\n\n\nMusic is heartfelt\, melodic\, rhythmic and dynamic. Various styles make each song unique. Lyrics drawn from personal experience and Alberta landscapes convey universal themes. \n\n\n\nTheir current live lineup is anchored by our principal songwriter\, lead vocals and guitar\, Reid Seibert. On percussion and vocals\, Jason Gibson.  On fiddle and vocals\, Kelsey Jespersen. On bass and vocals\, Bud Haycock.  We are also joined from time to time by our amigo Bill Lawson\, who plays bass\, guitar\, vocals\, and all manner of things! \n\n\n\nTheir live performance lineup can vary slightly from one performance to another\, depending on the style of music being played and the venues where they are performing.  \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

Magnolia Buckskin delivers a vibrant and humorous show with original arrangements that are refreshing and poignant. \n\n\n\nAs a band\, they have worked with the Foothills Acoustic Music Institute (FAMI)\, overseeing harmony and vocal-improv workshops and teaching banjo\, accordion and mandolin\, have led workshops at Calgary’s Ukulele Festival\, and taught at Wellspring Alberta\, a charity that offers programming for people living with cancer. \n\n\n\n“I kind of think of it as a pond\,” says Sayer. “You put into the pond\, you can’t just keep taking out of the pond. To be fresh you have to put back in and that keeps things fresh. \n\n\n\nFan favourite Charlie Ewing was born in Cutbank\, Montana\, in windswept Glacier County\, just thirty miles south of the medicine line. When he was a long yearling\, his parents moved to the Porcupine Hills of Alberta\, about 130 miles to the north\, and he has lived there pretty much the rest of his life\, ranching and living the cowboy lifestyle that dominates his songwriting. \n\n\n\n\nHe spent his working life running the SN Ranch\, a cow/calf operation near Claresholm where he still lives. Semi-retired now he finds more time for music activity and performs either solo or with a duo or in a bluegrass band. Hopefully there are a few more songs rattling around underneath his hat waiting to be born. It’s an arduous process like trying to rope the wind. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

SUMMARY:Ray Bonneville
DESCRIPTION:Ray Bonneville \n\n\n\n\n\nTickets are available online\, at ANALOG BOOKS\, THEORETICALLY BREWING\, D&N KITCHEN\, CASA and at the door. \n\n\n\n“folk-roots gumbo… a languid Mississippi Delta groove\, seasoned with smooth\, weathered vocals and a propulsive harmonica wheeze.” Whether performing solo or fronting a band\, playing electric or acoustic guitar\, Bonneville allows space between notes that adds potency to every chord\, lick and lyric.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJim Withers – Montreal Gazette \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin the Lethbridge Folk Club as we proudly present Ray Bonneville with Richie Lawrence and opener Eric Braun. \n\n\n\nAcclaimed raconteur Ray Bonneville strips his bluesy Americana down to its essentials and steeps it in the humid grooves of the South\, creating a compelling poetry of hard living and deep feeling.  \n\n\n\nJim Withers (Montreal Gazette) describes his sound as “folk-roots gumbo… a languid Mississippi Delta groove\, seasoned with smooth\, weathered vocals and a propulsive harmonica wheeze.” Whether performing solo or fronting a band\, playing electric or acoustic guitar\, Bonneville allows space between notes that adds potency to every chord\, lick\, and lyric. Thom Jurek (Allmusic.com) remarks\, “With darkness and light fighting for dominance… he’s stripped away every musical excess to let the songs speak for themselves.”  \n\n\n\nOften called a “song and groove man\,” Bonneville has lived the life of the itinerant artist. From his native Quebec\, he moved to Boston at age twelve\, where he learned English and picked up piano and guitar. Later\, he served in Vietnam and earned a pilot’s license in Colorado before living in Alaska\, Seattle\, and Paris. Six years in New Orleans infused his musical sensibilities with the region’s culture and rhythms. And then\, a close call while piloting a seaplane proved pivotal: After two decades working as a studio musician\, playing rowdy rooms with blues bands\, and living hard\, Bonneville’s lifetime of hard-won experience coalesced into an urge to write his own music.  \n\n\n\n\nRay recorded his first album\, On the Main\, in 1992. He’s since released nine albums\, including his October 2023 release\, On The Blind Side\, earned wide critical and popular acclaim\, and won an enthusiastic following in the U.S.\, Canada\, and Europe. His awards include a prestigious Juno\, the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy\, for his 1999 album\, Gust of Wind. In 2012\, Ray won the solo/duet category in the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge. His post-Katrina ode\, “I Am the Big Easy\,” earned the International Folk Alliance’s 2009 Song of the Year Award\, placed number one on Folk Radio’s list of most-played songs of 2008\, and was recently covered by Jennifer Warnes for the BMG label.  \n\n\n\nOther notable artists who have recorded his songs include Ronnie Hawkins (“Foolish”) and Slaid Cleaves (“Run Jolee Run”). Ray has shared the bill with blues heavyweights Muddy Waters\, B.B. King\, Dr. John\, J.J. Cale\, and Robert Cray\, and has guested on albums by Mary Gauthier\, Gurf Morlix\, Eliza Gilkyson\, Ray Wylie Hubbard\, and other prominent musicians. He has performed at renowned venues around the world\, including South by Southwest\, Folk Alliance\, and Montreal International Jazz Festival\, and plays over 100 shows per year across the U.S.\, Canada\, and Europe. When not on the road\, Ray divides his time between homes in Goulais River\, Ontario and Austin\, Texas.  \n\n\n\nHailing from Southern Alberta\, Eric Braun blends the storytelling essence of country with the raw energy of rock\, creating a sound that resonates deeply with listeners. Since picking up the guitar at 15\, Eric has honed his craft and developed a unique voice in the music scene. \n\n\n\nIn 2017\, he released his debut album\, “Clear Your Mind\,” showcasing his knack for poignant lyrics and melodic hooks. Following that\, his 2019 single\, “(Please Don’t) Give Me Hope\,” further established his presence\, drawing inspiration from musical icons like Chris Stapleton\, John Mayer\, and Keith Urban. \n\n\n\nWith a recent signing to Blue Willow Entertainment\, Eric is poised to take his career to the next level. He’s currently in the studio working on a full-length album set to release next year\, and he’s gearing up for a tour in summer 2025. As he continues to evolve as an artist\, Eric Braun remains committed to sharing his authentic sound and connecting with audiences everywhere. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\nReturn Policy

SUMMARY:Morgan Toney
DESCRIPTION:Tickets available online\, at CASA and at the door. \n\n\n\nMorgan Toney at the Army Navy Air Force Veterans Club with opener Anna Linville and John King \n\n\n\n“Toney’s debut album is full of creative fire\, a testament to a young artist searching for his voice and overflowing with ideas.” \n\n\n\n– Devon Leger\, Folk Alley“ \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Membership Tickets*\n\n\n\n\n*Memberships must be shown at the door \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy General Admission Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMi’kmaq fiddler and singer Morgan Toney brings together the fiery fiddling of Cape Breton Island with the old songs of the Mi’kmaq with brilliance and heart. First Flight\, Toney’s award-nominated debut album\, celebrates language and heritage in Toney’s transformation of traditional songs like the Ko’jua and the Mi’kmaq Honour Song alongside highly original songcraft.. \n\n\n\n\n\nToney’s debut album First Flight\, nominated for 3 East Coast Music Awards and a Canadian Folk Music Award\, showcases this unique combination\, both in the way he transforms traditional songs like the Ko’jua and the Mi’kmaq Honour Song\, but also for the new songs he’s creating. “Msit No’kmaq” was written partially in Mi’kmaq and features a fiddle break from the great Cape Breton fiddler Ashley MacIsaac. “Kwana Li” is a traditional Mi’kmaq song that Toney added new English lyrics to and “For the Elders” is a newly composed waltz from Toney. \n\n\n\nToney’s newest Album\, ‘Heal the Divide’ releases on March 7th. We are truly looking forward to hearing some cuts from this album and listening to Morgan Toney and his two trio mates Ryan Roberts\, and Keith Mullins. \n\n\n\nWith all the accolades and attention he’s been receiving recently\, it’s easy to forget that Morgan Toney is so new to the music\, having only played the fiddle for a few years. But there’s something deeper at work here. When he brought his fiddle back to the same uncle whose Phil Collins DVD first inspired him\, Toney’s relative let him know that Toney actually comes from a long line of fiddlers. His great-grandfather and three of his great-uncles were all Mi’kmaq fiddlers of renown in the community. In a sense\, Toney’s coming back full circle. And circles are something he understands. “We are living in circles\,” he says. “The earth is a circle. The drum is a circle\, how we move around is a circle\, how we greet each other. The talking circle is huge.” \n\n\n\nAnna Linville and John King with Celtic Routes open for Morgan Toney. \n\n\n\nAnna hails from the UK and has lived in England\, Wales and Scotland and spent time in Ireland. Classically trained\, the Scottish ceilidh scene turned her into a fiddler and she’s never looked back. Playing in Edinburgh ceilidh bands of all sizes ranging from 4 to 15 pieces\, her first love is jigs and reels\, as well as strathspeys and airs\, but she also adds ethereal vocal harmony to the Celtic Routes sound. \n\n\n\nAnna is definitely our own\, “Scottish influence”\, in our music selections and performances! With her enthusiasm towards Celtic music\, she has greatly expanded our Scottish repertoire\, as well as our Irish and East Coast selections. \n\n\n\nJohn was born the grandson of Irish immigrants and growing up in the Montreal and Ottawa Irish communities\, Irish music and culture has always been part of John’s life. When he first picked up his guitar as a teenager\, instead of playing rock and roll\, he concentrated on songs from the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem\, Irish folk singers\, largely credited with bringing traditional Irish music and songs to North America in the 1960’s. \n\n\n\nIn 2015\, John made his first ever trip to Ireland\, and the music\, songs and stories that had somehow faded away while life happened\, were reborn in him. Since then\, John has regularly been performing Irish\, Scottish and East Coast music in Lethbridge and the surrounding area. By 2017\, he joined forces with other local musicians who share his love and passion for Celtic music\, and Celtic Routes became a reality. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nRefund Policy

This was the start on her path to becoming a successful competitive Dressage rider and trainer\, and would ultimately play an integral part in her music. The undeniable influences that horses have had on her life\, are woven subtly into her music and noted with appreciation by those who share her love for the animals. \n\n\n\nLightfoot’s credits many influences in her music\, Willy Nelson\, Ian Tyson and Emmylou Harris\, to name a few amongst many. But\, It wasn’t until she first heard a live recording of singer/songwriter Iris Dement that something really changed for her. “I had never heard anything like it. It was startling\, I started writing.” \n\n\n\nTen years after releasing the ‘Redtail Flyer’ album\, Leanne Is back in the studio\, working on her second album. Bringing her smoke laced vocals\, and timeless writing to the forefront\, her new tracks harness the many influences of her early years\, and temper them with the life lessons that come with the profoundly joyous and sorrowful experiences of a life lived in the pursuit of personal truths\, art\, passion\, and being human. \n\n\n\nBorn and raised in Prince Edward County\, Ontario\, Cathy Hawley grew up in a musical family. Don Messer\, old-time music and country were her childhood influences. In her early teen years\, she was introduced to folk\, bluegrass\, Baez\, Doc Watson\, Bill Monroe\, and that whole acoustic sixties music scene brought to life by music festivals – Mariposa\, Berkshires\, and in particular\, Mike Seeger and John Cohen of the New Lost City Ramblers. Cathy mostly played living room concerts with friends and still loves those “oldies” that her contemporaries brought to that setting. \n\n\n\nAcoustic performer Henk van Ginneken backs up vocals with harmonicas\, guitars\, mandolin and 6-string banjo. As well as headlining\, he has opened for the likes of Bill Bourne\, Tim Williams\, Oscar Lopez\, Barachios\, Jerusalem Ridge and Ken Hamm\, to name a few. Primarily as a solo act\, Henk has been performing at festivals\, coffee houses and folk clubs\, as well as a lot of busking for well over 40 years. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nRefund Policy
