To quote Eric Bibb\, the award-winning American acoustic bluesman\, after listening to Keelaghan perform: “[You’re] a joy to hear\, just beautiful.  Reminded me of the best of the best of another time – Liam Clancy\, Tom Paxton etcetera.” Less colourful but more succinct\, Dave Marsh\, the eminent Rolling Stone critic\, simply described Keelaghan as “Canada’s finest songwriter.” \n\n\n\nTruly\, throughout a career that now spans almost four decades\, the Juno and Canadian Folk Music Award winner has created a repertoire of incalculable importance – a unique body of work\, either inspired by or drawn from the folk tradition. Ten solo albums flush with enduring lyrical relevance. Take the beautiful but heartbreaking ballad\, Jenny Bryce\, for example. From any point of view\, it’s indistinguishable from the numerous traditional tracks covered on his disc A Few Simple Verses.

Their vintage-pop-rock vibe\, combined with a high-octane\, visually dynamic stage show\, makes them favourites in Calgary’s music scene. \n\n\n\nThey have entertained crowds at Calgary Folk Music Festival\, Juno Fest\, Tour of Alberta\, South Country Fair\, Steamboat\, Chinook Blast\, East Town Get Down\, East Coulee Music Festival\, Women’s March\, AMPIA Awards\, Calgary’s White Hat Awards\, CFMF at Pride drive-in\, Calgary Folk Festival’s Block Heater and many other great events. \n\n\n\nOpening is Veronica Raine Her eclectic style reflects her diverse influences\, from the introspective grit of Eddie Vedder’s grunge to the lyrical sophistication of Joni Mitchell’s folk\, all filtered through the lens of her lived experience. From writing poetry as a child to composing her first songs as a teenager\, Veronica’s work has always been intimately personal. Her lyrics explore themes of resilience\, self-discovery\, and the emotional nuances of human connection.
